Identity theft where you might not expect it

We all know protecting our personal information is extremely important in an age where credit card numbers and passwords are compromised on a regular basis. Updating our PINs, changing email passwords and going through the process of shredding and ordering new credit/debit cards are all things most of us are not unfamiliar with. However, over the past few years identity thieves and hackers have broadened their target spectrum by taking advantage of outdated technology and security measures in order to obtain personal information as equally valuable as your password or PIN: medical records.
